Nigeria to experience solar eclipse tomorrow





According to the National Space Research and Development Agency (NSRDA) , Solar Eclipse will occur in Nigeria on Thursday September 1 2016 between 7:15am & 10:03am with Little change in time across the country.

Lagos will experience its first contact with eclipse at 7:15am with a maximum eclipse occuring at 8:32 am and ending 10 am.

In  Abuja (FCT) will be partial eclipse with an obscurity of 60%, and the first contact at 7:12am with maximum eclipse at 8:32am & end at 10 am.

Dr Felix Ale ,Head of media  & corporate communication said the eclipse cannot be seen with naked eyes as this could cause damage.

The agency have set up a viewing center to enable members of the public view the eclipse with specially designed instrument. The center is to be opened by 6:45am tomorrow.
